Ideas For Quick Science Projects
It happens sometimes that last minute science project that has to be completed. It can be difficult on short notice to do some science projects. But never fear there are some really easy science projects that can be completely quickly. Quick Science Projects do not have to be something that you stress out over. There are a few different choices that we will explore together. Which one you choose may depend on how long you have until you have to turn it in.
One quick and easy science project is the smell vs. taste project. This project can be completely with a quick trip to your grocer or even convenience store. All you need is some fruit for smelling and some candy for tasting. A blindfold also comes in handy here to make sure that your participants are not peeking. First have the participant smell the fruit and then place a sucker or piece of candy on their tongue. Then have the participant tell you what flavor the candy was. Did the fruit they smelled affect the flavor that they tasted? This experiment works with either a large or a smaller group of participants. This is a great experiment for graphing out the results and supporting or disproving your hypothesis. Quick Science Projects can be as simple as this or they can be more elaborate.
Another science project that most kids can get into is whether playing video games affect your blood pressure readings. For this project you will need a blood pressure cuff and a gaming system. You can use either a portable system or one attached to the TV. You simply take participants blood pressure while playing different games and see if the type of game affects your readings. Quick Science Projects can also involve something fun and sweet like growing your own rock candy. Growing your own rock candy is a very simple process and a neat experiment on how crystals form. You can purchase a great rock candy crystal growing kit from websites such as Scientificsonline.com. It is item #3039234 and is only $9.95. This kit will make your project very simple to accomplish and it has a great visual impact.
